Lizzy Karnaukh received her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Barnard College and her PhD in Chemistry at Boston University. In her doctoral work, she used computational quantum chemistry methods to study redox reactions in proteins. In graduate school, she taught chemistry and science writing, published her research in scholarly journals, and developed a passion for the history and philosophy of science. She has taught chemistry and math at BUA, as well as exposing students to STEM research on campus through junior seminars. In her spare time, Dr. Karnaukh enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing, cooking, and making music.
