Restricted Gifts
Restricted gifts are an important component of BUA’s annual fundraising. These designated gifts enhance and sustain the programs they benefit.
Here are some examples:
- Diversity and Inclusion Fund: This fund supports efforts and initiatives at Boston University Academy with the following goals: Increase access to BUA for underrepresented students in the greater Boston area; Enhance support of students through an inclusive culture and increasing institutional competency related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and provide greater access to selective postsecondary institutions, including guaranteed admission to Boston University for BUA students in good standing. The Boston University Academy Diversity & Inclusion Fund was established when BUA was awarded a grant from The Edward E. Ford Foundation to support diversity and inclusion efforts at BUA.
- Robotics: BUA’s robotics program, Team 246 “Overclocked,” is one of the signature extracurricular programs at BUA and attracts specific support each year because of its annual excellence, community service work, and opportunities for regional and national competitions. - Capital Gifts: From time to time, BUA may pursue a capital campaign to raise funds for specific larger building projects or programs, including endowment funds. Capital campaigns fall outside the normal operating budget and annual giving program.
The fiscal year and the Annual Fund runs from July 1-June 30 each year. All gifts to Boston University Academy are tax deductible.
