Campus Resources and Facilities

Libraries

Boston University Libraries is composed of the Pappas Law Library, the School of Theology Library, the Alumni Medical Library, and Mugar Memorial Library and branches (African Studies, Astronomy, Music, Science & Engineering, Stone Science, Pickering Educational Resources, and the Frederick S. Pardee Management Library).

In addition to books, BU Libraries provide limitless search tools, access to databases and global resources, research materials and tutorials, and specialty subject research guides developed in-house by librarian experts.

Dining

Boston University offers 20 retail dining options for the community, at which BUA students can use their Terrier Cards to purchase food once dining bucks are loaded. Most notably, the Union Court food court, located right next door from BUA and where most students and faculty eat, offers 11 different restaurants open before, during, and after school hours.

For upperclassmen enrolled in University classes in other areas of campus, there are 14 additional restaurants and cafés in various locations.

Fitness and Athletics

Students benefit from Boston University’s extraordinary fitness and athletic facilities.  Most notable among these is BU’s 270,000 square-foot Fitness & Recreation Center (FitRec). FitRec offers comprehensive fitness and recreation opportunities, from aerobics and boxing to yoga and squash.  It also boasts weight and cardio rooms and equipment, a rock-climbing wall, two pools, racquetball and squash courts, two gyms, an indoor jogging track, and more.

Along with FitRec and Sargent Gym, which adjoins the Academy building, students have access to Nickerson Field, the Track and Tennis Center, the Sailing Pavilion, and the DeWolfe Boathouse.

Performing and Visual Arts

The College of Fine Arts, located just up the street at 855 Commonwealth Ave., is home to the TheatreLab@855, the David Copeland Studio 354, and the Juliane Ethel Leilani Miller Studio Theatres 352 and 356 (Jewels 1 and Jewels 2). The CFA building is the site of most major performing arts productions for BUA, and is also home to the School of Theatre as well as the Schools of Music and Visual Arts.
