Colleen Krivacek

Biology Teacher

Dr. Colleen Krivacek graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in English and earned her PhD in biology from Boston College. During her time at BC, she enjoyed teaching a variety of undergraduate science classes, including Introductory Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology, and received two Excellence in Teaching Awards. After several years of post-doctoral research in radiation oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, she realized that she truly belongs in the classroom.

A boarding school graduate, Dr. Krivacek comes to Boston University Academy from Alexandria, VA where she spent the previous eight years teaching at Episcopal High School. Dr. Krivacek believes in an experiential, student-centric model of teaching. At BUA, she will continue her 20+ year career in education teaching the inaugural freshman Biology curriculum. She is excited to return “back home” to Boston. In her free time, Dr. Krivacek loves to cook and play cards and board games. She lives in the South End with her husband, Paul, her two children Owen and Olivia, and their Vizsla, Tahoe.
