Olive Brown teaches History and occasionally English at BUA, and has been on the faculty for more than ten years. She is the Grade 9 Class advisor, advises a Senior Thesis cohort, facilitates the Conversations@BUA program, and serves on the Admissions Committee. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History from Harvard College, and a Master’s Degree in History from Simmons College, with a Master’s thesis on the later writings of the political philosopher Hannah Arendt. She has previously studied Ancient Greek, and has taught at Fontbonne Academy in Milton. Mrs. Brown is proud to be a BUA parent as well; she is the mother of several BUA graduates: Katy ’15, William ’20, Dorothy ’22, and Elizabeth ’24. Outside of school, she has fun baking (well) and playing the violin (not well). She is happiest in her garden!
