Senior Page Guidelines

SENIOR PAGES for the Yearbook are due Monday, November 8, 2021.

By long and happy BUA tradition, each senior creates one personal page for our book.  So, Class of 2022, it’s your turn now to get creative!  Make a page that celebrates you, your time at BUA, your family and friends, your favorite Latin or Greek author….   Your page can be light or serious, high-tech or simple.  Check out past yearbooks for clever, funny, thoughtful, and heartfelt ideas.

Please submit your page in a good-quality hard color copy (NOT electronically).  You may MAKE the page however you wish (by hand or on a computer), but we need a physical copy of your finished work.  Please give your page to Ms. Jewell.  If you’re having trouble, see us EARLY for help.  Thank you!

What/How:

  • Your page should be about 8.5 x 11.  Rectangular is good!  You may orient it horizontally or vertically.
  • Print your page on good paper (photo is nice), on a color printer.
  • Don’t have a color printer?  Speak to me EARLY, and we’ll work something out.

Tips:

  • Don’t put important text or design elements too close to the edges of your page: they might get lost.  Consider leaving a small border at the edge.
  • If it’s not obvious which way is up, give us an arrow on a post-it.
  • Check your spelling and punctuation!  Once we submit the page to Jostens, it’s forever.
  • Put your name on a post-it, or on an envelope (with your page in it!) so we can identify your page.  The page itself does NOT need your name in it.  (We’ll do that.)

The tough stuff:

  • The deadline is real.  We need time to process your page for OUR deadline.
  • NO copyright infringement.  If somebody else owns the image, you CAN’T use it.
  • NO obscenities or inappropriate references.  We will require you to re-do your page, and if you’re past deadline, you might be out of luck.  (See below.)
  • Please DO YOUR PART.  Senior pages are essentially half the book.  Your page is not optional: a space is reserved for you.  Your page sits opposite somebody else’s; without yours, theirs doesn’t “count” for our deadline.  If we don’t have your page, you may receive a boilerplate page – but we don’t relish this: you all deserve a quality book, with quality pages.  And finally, the senior staff are your friends: don’t stress them out.  Please help us make a great book for you.  We look forward to seeing your work!  Thank you!

Best wishes from Ms. Jewell, Sabrina, Sarah, and the 2022 Team
