Student Council Application

Complete this form to officially announce your candidacy for a position as a class representative for student council AY 23-24.

In order to be eligible to run, you must submit the form and acknowledge the expectations of the position by the end of the day Tuesday, April 18th. According to the bylaws of the council, eligible candidates must have attended at least one meeting over the course of the academic year. Subcommittees meet weekly most days during lunch, so there is still time for you to attend one.

In order to be an elected member, you must leave the Wednesday lunch time available for rep meetings each semester.

All representatives will give a 2 minute (max) speech during ASM on Tuesday, April 25th. Email Ms. Perrone (perronev@bu.edu) or the president, Lizzie Seward (easeward@bu.edu) with questions.

***Before applying, please consider the following: Student Council is a large, but rewarding commitment. You will be required to attend one 30-minute rep meeting per week, and to participate in two subcommittees, 30-minutes each per week. The subcommittees include Events, Resources, Policy, and Public Relations. All elected representatives are required to help out at Student Council organized events. Elected representatives are able to apply for leadership positions within the council including committee chair and officer positions.***

As a member of student council, you have the opportunity to make real change to better the BUA community by amplifying the voices of the student body. If you would still like to be a part of Student Council but don’t want to commit to the requirements of an elected position you can consider general membership. Review those requirements here.
