{"id":589,"date":"2021-11-02T12:50:29","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T16:50:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buacademy.org\/stuco\/?page_id=589"},"modified":"2022-06-14T11:28:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T15:28:35","slug":"senior-page-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.buacademy.org\/stuco\/yearbook-updates\/senior-page-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Page Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SENIOR PAGES for the Yearbook are due\u00a0<em>Monday, November 8, 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By long and happy BUA tradition, each senior creates one personal page for our book.\u00a0 So, Class of 2022, it\u2019s your turn now to get creative!\u00a0 Make a page that celebrates you, your time at BUA, your family and friends, your favorite Latin or Greek author\u2026. \u00a0 Your page can be light or serious, high-tech or simple.\u00a0 Check out past yearbooks for clever, funny, thoughtful, and heartfelt ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Please submit your page in a good-quality hard color copy (NOT electronically).\u00a0 You may MAKE the page however you wish (by hand or on a computer), but we need a physical copy of your finished work.\u00a0 Please give your page to Ms. Jewell.\u00a0 <em>If you\u2019re having trouble, see us EARLY for help.<\/em>\u00a0 Thank you!<\/p>\n<p>What\/How:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your page should be about 8.5 x 11.\u00a0 Rectangular is good!\u00a0 You may orient it horizontally or vertically.<\/li>\n<li>Print your page on good paper (photo is nice), on a color printer.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t have a color printer?\u00a0 Speak to me EARLY, and we\u2019ll work something out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t put important text or design elements too close to the edges of your page: they might get lost.\u00a0 Consider leaving a small border at the edge.<\/li>\n<li>If it\u2019s not obvious which way is up, give us an arrow on a post-it.<\/li>\n<li>Check your spelling and punctuation!\u00a0 Once we submit the page to Jostens, it\u2019s forever.<\/li>\n<li>Put your name on a post-it, or on an envelope (with your page in it!) so we can identify your page.\u00a0 The page itself does NOT need your name in it.\u00a0 (We\u2019ll do that.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tough stuff:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The deadline is real.\u00a0 We need time to process your page for OUR deadline.<\/li>\n<li>NO copyright infringement.\u00a0 If somebody else owns the image, you CAN\u2019T use it.<\/li>\n<li>NO obscenities or inappropriate references.\u00a0 We will require you to re-do your page, and if you\u2019re past deadline, you might be out of luck.\u00a0 (See below.)<\/li>\n<li>Please DO YOUR PART.\u00a0 Senior pages are essentially half the book.\u00a0 Your page is not optional: a space is reserved for you.\u00a0 Your page sits opposite somebody else\u2019s; without yours, theirs doesn\u2019t \u201ccount\u201d for our deadline.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t have your page, <em>you may receive a boilerplate page<\/em> \u2013 but we don\u2019t relish this: you all deserve a quality book, with quality pages.\u00a0 And finally, the senior staff are your friends: don\u2019t stress them out.\u00a0 Please help us make a great book for you. \u00a0We look forward to seeing your work! \u00a0<em>Thank you!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Best wishes from Ms. Jewell, Sabrina, Sarah, and the 2022 Team<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SENIOR PAGES for the Yearbook are due\u00a0Monday, November 8, 2021.
