Math Teacher (One-Year Position)

Boston University Academy is seeking a full-time math teacher to begin in August 2023 as a one-year leave replacement. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of math; course placements are still being developed for next year, and we have some flexibility to tailor the teaching load to the strengths and interests of the candidate. The teacher will join a four-person department committed to inquiry-based approaches and student-centered math teaching and learning. BUA faculty are also involved outside the classroom in a variety of ways, including advising, chaperoning trips and events, and leading extracurricular activities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of teaching experience, an advanced degree in math or a related field, a student-centered approach, deep content knowledge, and a passion for working with high school students. Experience in and a passion for curriculum design are a plus.
