College Ambassadors
BUA’s College Ambassadors are alumni who volunteer to serve as resources for BUA juniors and seniors as they explore college options. If you are a BUA student with questions about academics, extracurricular activities, on and off-campus opportunities, research, internships, and daily life, reach out to a College Ambassador! Don’t see the college you’re interested in on the list? Reach out to Assistant Director of College Counseling Ellen Evans.
If you are a BUA alumnus/ae and don’t see your college listed below, contact Director of Alumni Relations Dave Stone to sign up as a College Ambassador!
June Ahn (BUA'20) - University of Pennsylvania
Intended major: Biochemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology
Favorite thing about UPenn: “What I love most about Penn so far is the flexibility to explore anything you are passionate about. Classes at all four schools such as Wharton or the engineering school are accessible to everyone. There is also a culture of entrepreneurship that extends to all four schools at Penn!“
Contact: juneahn@upenn.edu
Jessica Brown (BUA'18) - Smith College
Intended major: Environmental Science and Policy, minor in Study of Women and Gender (might upgrade to the double major soon though!)
Favorite thing about Smith: “I’m gonna cheat and say more than one thing. 1. The housing system is awesome and fosters a real community. 2. I’ve had the chance to learn from the coolest people in my classes (e.g. I took a course with Loretta Ross, a foundational thinker in reproductive justice, on white supremacy). 3. I’ve been able to get deeply involved with various climate justice organizations, from Divest Smith College to local chapters of the Sunrise Movement.“

Ilona Demler (BUA'18) - Harvard University

Contact: idemler@college.harvard.edu
Andrew Deng (BUA'18) - University of Chicago
Intended major: “I’m undecided but I plan on double majoring in Psychology and something else, which I’m still figuring out.”
Favorite thing about UChicago: “My favorite thing so far, similar to my favorite aspects of BUA, are the people I have met, both in my year and others, and the vast opportunity for new experiences and engagements. I’ve made some friendships and connections already that I know I will cherish for a long time.”

Svayam Dialani (BUA'18) - Northwestern University
Intended major: Biomedical Engineering
Favorite thing about Northwestern: “My favorite thing about Northwestern is that almost everyone I’ve met is multifaceted. You’ll find people who range from engineering and journalism double majors to D1 baseball players studying economics. Overall, it makes for an extremely diverse community and a wide range of perspectives to learn and grow from.”

Intended major: Clinical Psychology and Film & Media Studies
Favorite thing about Tufts: “The global mindset among members of the community. From students to professors, everyone comes from a diverse background and shares their viewpoints and life experiences with each other. The best part is that all of it is accepted, and in time, it has opened my mind to new perspectives.“

Kaly Glavas (BUA'19) - Boston University
Intended major: My current majors are Classical Civilization and Philosophy (I am pre-law), with a minor in Modern Greek. I intend, however, to take a few business classes in the coming years.
Favorite thing about BU: “There are lots of things I love about BU, but my favorite aspect of the school is definitely the student diversity – in terms of ethnicity, interests, levels of discipline, and more. Being at such a large school may be overwhelming to BUA students who are used to a small student body, but BU’s dynamic ensures that there’s a group, club, or community for everyone! Everyone at BU has the opportunity to meet both kids like them, as well as kids from all walks of life, which is essential to the college experience, in my opinion.“

Anna Husson (BUA'17) - Boston College
Intended major: Applied Psychology and Human Development with a minor in Leadership in Community Settings

It’s such a fun atmosphere on campus during football season, but further BC’s school spirit has fostered an amazing alumni network that has proved to be a great resource.”
